Cook: a sketch (1853)

Medium: pen and coloured wash

Exhibited: RA, 1922 – Exhibition of Works by Recently Deceased Members of the Royal Academy

This sketch was owned in 1922 by Eyre Crowe’s nephew Evan Barby Crowe Esq. It might depict a scene from Crowe’s trip to America in 1853; alternatively it could show a domestic servant in the Crowe household in Paris, to which he returned in May of that year.
